In the spirit of building a customized homemade boat I decided to stretch the plans to make the boat 16' overall. From reading about this on the web I thought I would add an extra foot to the rear of the boat where the station dimensions are the same. Denny said that this would be better acomplished by changing the station spacing lengthwise. This changed the staion spacing from 12" to 12.8". Additionally all lengthwise mesurements were multipled by 1.066.

I built a scale model as suggested in Payson's book. I found this to be usefull and when it came time to build this step made the visualizing easier. You can see a photo of my model on this page. It also gave me something to do while waiting for my wood to come by freight from Noah's marine.
